Mother of 2 boys!! And stepmom to 60+ teenage lifeguards... Never a dull moment!!!
Enjoy each and everyday!!! From Training staff to teaching swim lessons, to budgets, presentations, fundraising, events, programming, bookings, scheduling, you name... It keeps the days interesting!!
Began aquatic career as most as a 16 yr old lifeguard and pool attendant have grown and come and gone from the pool industry over the years.. Moved to Brenham to attend Blinn college and meet my husband here.. needless to say i haven't gone far.. attended Sam Houston State University!!! and started my career with health and Safety with the American Red Cross only to leave there after just under a decade to take the position at the city!!!
With 2 active boys I also have the opportunity to stay active within our school district and sports... And fortunately they don't like the same sports so we get to experience many different sporting events!! Needless to say, I am on the go all the time and LOVE it!!! Also enjoy being involved in the community.. The Chamber of Commerce and the Blue Blazers welcoming in "New" businesses and celebrating those that have stayed in our community for years!!! Building Brenham and making it the BEST little hometown in Texas..

Since 2008, Kyle has held the position of Aquatics Programs Supervisor for the City of New Braunfels, and am responsible for the Landa Park Aquatics Complex, housing the 1.5 million gallon Historical Spring-Fed Pool, as well as the City Tube Chute on the Comal River. He got his start in aquatics in 2005 as part of the Water Park Operations Team at the Coco Key Water Resort in Chicago. In mid 2006, he moved back to Texas and became an Aquatics Director for the South County YMCA in The Woodlands, TX. Since arriving in New Braunfels, Kyle has been fortunate enough to be able to participate in TAAF and TRAPS, but is now looking to take on a leadership role within TPPC.
Kyle would like to see Region 5 use more of it's resources, so that all its members may benefit. One of his main goals would to be to create a "Regional Training Database", that would list each city's certified LGI/LGIT's and WSI/WSIT's and who is available for contract hiring to teach classes. It would also include a year round, updated training schedule for cities and facilities. This would allow staff to obtain specific certifications or "co-teach" within the Region to help out other members. He would also like to see more communication within the Region. A monthly email distributed with information about programs, facilities and ways to keep staff motivated and safe. Lastly, he would like to facilitate meeting up 1-2 times a year outside of the Conference to share ideas and talk about what's working and latest updates on codes/rules/regulations. Kyle feels that Region 5 is full of great aquatics personnel that should be helping each other to keep its pools and facilities safe!

My introduction to the aquaticsfield was in March of 1995 when I started out as a gate attendant and concessions clerk at our neighborhood homeowner’s association after being recruited from my high school’s swim team. From my first encounter working at swimming pools I have been committed to working in the aquatics industry and furthering my education and standing in the aquatics field. I have been fortunate enough to work at a variety of facilities in a number of locations, partly with thanks to a military parent. I hold many current certifications pertaining to aquatics, and belong to a variety of professional groups. My enthusiasm for work is partially due to work ethic, and the enjoyment of teaching and teambuilding, and partly for continuation of aquatic traditions and programs like those I personally have enjoyed through my lifetime. Currently I am employed at Port Royal Ocean Resort, and the City of Port Aransas in the Coastal Bend Area.
